Volunteer

Thank you for wanting to help out - Lazy River cannot run without you and others!

We need help with all sorts of tasks, big and small, and are looking for lots of volunteers and a handful of staff.

You are welcome to sign up for as many tasks as you want. Before you sign up, please have a look below for descriptions of tasks and benefits. We will contact you to confirm your tasks, and then give you more details closer to the event.

If you have questions about volunteering, please contact us at info@winterjump.com.

There are limited spots for volunteers and staff, and we may not be able to offer a spot to everyone who requests. If you have not been given a spot, you will have to register for the festival in the normal way.

Volunteers and all staff must abide by our code of conduct

Volunteer & Staff Tasks

  • Tidy Crew

Tidying volunteers are in charge of keeping the venue clean and tidy during the parties. In between your dancing you will swing by to check if the garbage needs emptying or the water table refilling. When the party ends, you help us clean up before we close the venue.

  • Glam Crew

Being a part of the glam squad involves rigging and decorating the venues before the evening parties start. This involves moving tables and chairs, setting up the registration, assemble the photo booth, decorations, and generally making the venues look glamorous and sparkly.

  • Food Crew

  • Activity Manager

The activity manager plans, coordinates and handles set up for three social activities during the festival.

We want our participants to get to know each other and the city, and would like to offer them some social and fun activities. One get-to-know-each-other activity early in the festival, one daytime activity on the weekend suitable for party pass holders and last but not least the very popular sauna! Should you have any additional ideas you want to put into life you are very welcome to do so!

  • Venue Manager

The arena manager at Samfunnssalen is responsible for the venue and event together with the organizers. You will be the contact person for the venue crew, band, MC, DJs and super volunteers. You will prepare backstage, make sure that everything is ready and that the venue opens on time. You will meet the band and other contributors before the parties start and make sure that they have everything they need on and off stage. You will make sure everyone is on stage when they should be.

The shifts are between 19:30 and 01:00 Friday and Saturday, but there will still be time for dancing during the shifts. You have good people skills, are calm and solution-oriented. You preferably have some experience with similar tasks.

  • Daytime Venue Manager

The daytime arena manager is responsible for opening and closing Treningshuset and BUL and bringing the teachers their food and drinks. You are responsible for keeping all three class venues clean and tidy. This includes emptying garbage and refilling toilet paper at BLS. You might also get other small practical tasks during the day, such as shopping or picking up lunch.

You will work 09.30-17:00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but the workload will vary during the day so it will be possible to attend some classes during down time.

  • Social Media Manager (event)

The social media manager is responsible for covering and documenting Winter Jump on Facebook and Instagram during the festival with our own content (photos and videos) in addition to actively sharing posts tagged with Winter Jump. This includes showcasing classes, parties, atmosphere, people and socializing in stories and feed.

Having some experience with social media and/or photography is an advantage, as is being self-driven and creative. You are expected to use your own phone, and Winter Jump must be able to use all content freely after the festival.
